Baby Botox (Micro-Tox)

Traditional Botox works by blocking acetylcholine release at the neuromuscular junction, paralyzing the target muscle. Baby Botox uses the same mechanism but with significantly diluted concentrations (10–20% of standard doses) injected into the intradermal layer rather than deep into muscle. The result: reduced pore size (sweat/sebum gland activity is partially suppressed), slight smoothing of fine lines, and skin texture improvement — without visible muscle paralysis. Korean patients typically prefer this to the "frozen face" aesthetic.

The session takes 15–30 minutes. Topical numbing is optional (injections with diluted product are less painful than full-dose Botox). Multiple micro-injections across the face using a 30–32 gauge needle. The intradermal injection pattern creates a grid of micro-papules that flatten within 30 minutes. Results onset: 5–7 days. No significant downtime — can return to most activities within hours. Avoid strenuous exercise and saunas for 24 hours.

The "baby Botox" technique was largely developed and standardized in Korean and Taiwanese clinics in response to patient preference for natural-looking results. In traditional Korean aesthetic philosophy, the goal is "자연스러운" (jeonnyeonseureoun — natural). This contrasts with some Western approaches that aim for maximum movement reduction. Korean clinics have also pioneered "Microtox" or "Mesobotox" — mixing diluted Botox with vitamin cocktails for multi-purpose injections.
