Lactic Acid
Also known as: AHA, Lactate
The gentlest AHA of the bunch — exfoliates AND humectants in one, so skin comes out glowy instead of tight. The glycolic for people who can't hack glycolic.
What It Does
Deep Dive
Larger molecule than glycolic, so it works more superficially and stings less. Unlike other AHAs, lactic acid is also a humectant (it literally draws water into skin), which is why lactic peels leave you plumper, not paper-thin. Nightly at 5–10% is the sweet spot; twice-weekly peels at 10–15% for more serious texture work. Wear SPF.
