Oxygen Facial

An oxygen facial uses a pressurized wand to deliver a stream of 98% pure oxygen alongside a serum concentrate directly to the skin. The proposed mechanism: pressurized delivery improves transdermal absorption of active ingredients. The oxygen also temporarily stimulates circulation and creates an antibacterial environment. The treatment is non-invasive and completely painless. While some claims (oxygen "activates" skin cells) are scientifically overstated, the pressurized serum delivery is effective and the immediate plumping effect is genuine.

A full oxygen facial session takes 45–60 minutes. It typically begins with a thorough cleanse and optional light exfoliation. The oxygen wand is then glided over the face — you feel a cool, gentle air pressure. Multiple passes are made with the serum-oxygen mix. Some protocols add a sheet mask post-treatment. No downtime. Skin appears instantly plumper and more luminous. The effect is particularly impressive for dehydrated or dull skin. Results last 3–5 days without maintenance.

The oxygen facial was famously popularized by aesthetician Tracie Martyn (whose clients included Madonna) in the US. In Korea, the treatment is offered in premium skin clinics (피부과 and luxury 피부관리실) as a high-end maintenance facial. Korean oxygen facial protocols typically incorporate growth factors and high-concentration HA serums as the infused medium, elevating the treatment beyond the basic oxygen + water approach.
