Ascorbyl glucoside (stable vitamin C derivative) inhibits tyrosinase, the enzyme that catalyses melanin production. Glycolic acid accelerates surface-cell turnover, shedding pigmented keratinocytes. Niacinamide blocks melanosome transfer from melanocytes to surrounding skin cells. Azelaic acid — the dermatologist's darling for rosacea AND pigmentation — provides anti-inflammatory action while inhibiting abnormal melanocyte activity.
