What is Second Cleanser?
Water-based cleansing step
The second cleanser in a double-cleansing routine is water-based — a foaming cleanser, gel cleanser, or cream cleanser. It removes water-soluble impurities like sweat, dirt, and any residue left by the first cleanser. The ideal second cleanser has a low pH (around 5.5) to maintain the acid mantle. Over-foaming or high-pH cleansers can strip the skin.
