PRP Facial (Vampire Facial)

A small amount of blood (10–30ml) is drawn from your arm and placed in a centrifuge that separates components by density. The resulting PRP layer contains 5–10x the normal concentration of platelets, which are rich in growth factors (PDGF, TGF-β, VEGF, EGF). When applied to skin (via microneedling channels or direct injection), these growth factors stimulate fibroblast activity, angiogenesis (new blood vessel formation), and accelerated collagen synthesis. Using the patient's own blood eliminates allergy risk.

The session takes 60–90 minutes. Blood draw first (most patients find this the most uncomfortable part). While centrifuge runs (15 min), the face is numbed with topical anesthetic. PRP is then either applied topically after microneedling (most common) or injected directly into treatment areas. The face will be red and may have micro-puncture marks for 24–48 hours. Avoid makeup, sun, and exercise for 48 hours. Some patients experience mild peeling day 3–5.

PRP therapy gained mainstream attention after a 2013 Kim Kardashian Instagram post showing her "bloody face" post-treatment. In Korea, PRP has been integrated into combination protocols with microneedling, fractional laser, and rejuran. Korean clinics pioneered "hair PRP" (injected into scalp for hair loss) as a distinct application. The autologous (self-derived) nature of PRP makes it one of the safest injectables available. Multiple RCTs support its efficacy for skin rejuvenation.
