Patting is the K-beauty application technique of gently tapping products into the skin with fingertips rather than rubbing or wiping. This method improves product absorption, stimulates circulation, and is gentler on the skin than dragging motions. In Korean skincare culture, patting is considered essential — you pat in your toner, pat in your essence, pat in your serum. The gentle percussion also helps products layer without pilling.
