Cristina Fogazzi opened a small beauty center in Milan in the 2000s and started a blog a few years later under the pen name L'Estetista Cinica โ "The Cynical Esthetician." The blog was deliberately anti-marketing: she'd tear apart product claims, mock influencer hauls, and tell women which expensive serums were actually water with a fragrance.
