The Gallinée Story
Gallinée launched in 2016, founded by Marie Drago — a French cosmetics biochemist who previously worked on L'Oréal's microbiome research. The brand was one of the first mass-market skincare lines to formulate explicitly around the skin microbiome, using pre-biotics (to feed good bacteria), pro-biotics (in their lactobacillus-fermented lysate form), and post-biotics (bacterial ferment byproducts). Unilever Ventures acquired a stake in 2019. The brand remains French-run and formulated out of London.
